This two-fer from Edsel features a pair of Sam & Dave LPs, Soul Men (originally on Stax) and I Thank You (issued on Atlantic) from 1967 and 1968, respectively. Among the 32 tracks are the soul staples “I Thank You,” “You Don’t Know What You Mean to Me,” “Soul Man,” and “Wrap It Up.” Also included are eight non-album singles and a live performance of “Soothe Me” recorded in London during the Stax Road show in 1967. ~ Al Campbell
