This budget-priced, four-disc boxed set from Real Gone Jazz features eight classic Red Garland hard bop albums from the late 1950s through 1960, which were originally recorded for the Prestige, Riverside, and Bluesville imprints. They include Dig It (1957-1958), Red Garland's Piano (1957), Can't See for Lookin' (1958), Red Alone (1960), Groovy (1957), Soul Junction (1957), It's a Blue World (1958), and Red in Bluesville (1959). All of these albums have been digitally remastered from source tapes though they contain none of the bonus material that the single-disc American editions do. ~ Thom Jurek
