Thank you to all who have written and visited the site. The positive emails are really inspiring to read. I try to respond to as many as possible, but I also thank you for receiving correspondence from Claire Klahn who has been so very helpful with managing the site.

I will be doing a solo acoustic tour through the UK, Sweden and Israel starting late October and continuing on through mid November, so please keep checking back for details on those shows. I decided that since these songs were all written on an acoustic guitar that I wanted to present them to people raw and un-produced first before we come back with a full band and tour behind the release of the record. I will also be doing a few Dan Reed Network songs as I have in Portland, Oregon over the last month or so, as I can’t forget my roots.

This week I head to the Democratic Convention to play at the Progressive Democrats of America events in Denver. It is an honor to be involved in supporting an organization that at it’s core is trying to create positive change in Washington DC, Universal Healthcare for all, curbing the abuse of Power, Good education for all children, ending the war in Iraq, not starting a war with Iran… these are but a few of their initiatives.

As many of you know I am supportive of Barrack Obama for president, and I have written a song called ‘Daylight’ in support of his campaign. I will be performing this track in Denver, but also have been asked to play it at the Congressional Black Caucus Conference September 26th in DC. We will be playing it with a small gospel Choir and with a very powerful vocalist named Adoree Johnson. We will be singing it as a duet of sorts, and hopefully get that videotaped so that we can share it with everyone here visiting the site.

The release of the record is being postponed now due to many small issues. We will keep you posted as to when the record will be available. I continue to write and record, so there will be plenty of new music coming out this next year.

There are some very interesting things developing both in the activist community and the political realm that are converging on the arts. The lines between activism and art are becoming more and more blurred, and in my opinion it is just in time. With so many obstacles and problems on the horizon of our future, perhaps it is long overdue. We shall see where the road leads… until then, I wish everyone a peaceful day. Dan
