Dolce Henke
Another excellent reissue by Scamp Records, a label which specializes in way out lounge music, among others things, La Dolce Henke is a classic curio from the early 1960s. Mel Henke got his start as an advertising copywriter, and he uses his skill in that area to create a not so subtle, sexually provocative lounge record that will leave you on the floor laughing. The lush, elaborate arrangements (often driven by Henke's own great piano playing) are stupendous. But the stars here are the songs, skits really, which are just this side of being obscene.
