GNAW is a project that brings together professional musicians from diverse backgrounds including sound design for television and movies and stints in bands like Burning Witch and Khanate. The resulting cacophony is a bubbling cauldron of post-apocalyptic Industrial noise-metal as unsettling and inhuman as possible. Spearheaded by former Khanate and OLD member Alan Dubin, the band's work embraces few traditional musical values; instead they build layer on layer of bubbling, corroded sound, both electronic and organic, with Dubin's shriek suspended in the mix. It's demanding listening, at times truly terrifying, but never dull or typical.
