This EP by Swedish grindcore/death metal band General Surgery has been expanded from 15 minutes to 21 with the inclusion of three alternate takes, and remastering to no great effect. It still sounds like what it is: a basement recording by a band possessed of more enthusiasm than instrumental skill. The introductory instrumental, the 3:12 "Ominous Lamentation," is very nearly the longest track on the disc (only "Crimson Concerto," at an epic 3:30, is longer); most other tracks come in between 30 seconds (the grindcore-ish "An Orgy of Flying Limbs and Gore"), and two-and-a-half minutes, propelled by blastbeats and roaring, distorted guitars.
