Rick Danko was a musician and songwriter of note prior to his sporadic solo career. Besides being the voice behind some of The Band's most affecting songs ("It Makes No Difference") he also penned the seminal Band tune "This Wheel's on Fire" (with Bob Dylan.) By the time of this self-titled album, The Band was history, and Danko's future was uncertain.
