Hi Tech Jazz Compilation
Though tied most directly to its founder Mike Banks, the Galaxy 2 Galaxy name is really a reference to a collective of electronica-based artists from the Detroit scene with a tendency toward jazz aesthetics. Attempting to adapt Kraftwerk's careful interplay between human and man-made (electronic) sounds, the result was often a club/dance aesthetic. Under the Underground Resistance label, a handful of tours and albums were released between 1993 and 2005, eventually culminating in the Hi Tech Jazz Compilation, the moment at which the collective finally gained recognition, with high sales in the digital and the Japanese markets. ~ Adam Greenberg
